Recently during Jump Festa 2017 on December 17, 2017, at the Makuhari Messe venue in Chiba, Square Enix announced three sessions of Final Fantasy Dissidia NT Open Beta.
The project’s director Takeo Kujiraoka, and producer Ichiro Hazama stated that the first open beta sessions will be held on December 23 to December 24, 2017. The second will be held on December 30 to December 31, 2017. And the last will be from January 6 to Janyary 7, 2018. They will all be playable from 6 pm JST to 11 pm JST.
The open beta is currently announced for Japan only. However, you might be able to access it by using a Japanese PSN account. There is still no news yet whether it will be available on the European and North American PSN as well.
There will be five modes to check out in the beta testing: Class Match, Rush Battle, Customize, Story, and Treasure. Rest assured, you won’t need any PlayStation Plus subscription for this.
In the stage show during the event, the game was played live with six players including the director and producer themselves. Two matches were played, both in the new Core Battle mode.
Core Battle Mode requires the two teams to destroy the enemy core, but protecting theirs at the same time. It is good to finally have a bit of variant for the standard battle mode.
Aside from the announcement and the stage show, a gameplay in the form of boss battle against Ifrit, and a cutscene from the story mode were also presented in the event.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will release in North America and Europe on January 30th, 2018 exclusively for PS4.
